Due to the weather it took us a few reschedules for Cassy and Ryan's engagement session, but boy oh boy did we get a beautiful fall day when it finally worked out! We used my studio at Northern Pacific Center as our base camp (which I typically do on portrait days) and spent time utilizing the unique backgrounds and surround area. I loved photographing these two - they are super sweet and so excited for their wedding in Luminary Fern in fall 2019!
There is nothing I love more than photographing a previous wedding couple once they have a sweet little family. Anne and Cory were married in a colorful and perfectly intimate sized wedding in my studio in 2015 and now they have an adorable little guy. He gave me quite the run for my money trying to catch a few smiles, but I love how they turned out. (:
Jessie and Josh are two of my favorite humans. I photographed their snowy engagement session and then one of my favorite lifetime weddings (yes - this amazeballs one - LINK) at NP. When they asked me to document a stepping stone in their journey to being parents with them and their surrogate Annie (Josh's wonderful sister), I was SO EXCITED...especially after Jessie sent me her detail inspiration board!! Although their path hasn't been an easy and direct one, I know that it is the one that must be meant to be. I can't wait to meet little baby Turan next May!
As I look out the window at the light coating of snow, I can't help but remember the warmth and beauty of Elise and Brett's fall engagement session. The colors, the trees, the sun - the setting was all so perfect at Brett's grandpa's property just outside of Brainerd. And I might be a little bit in love with Elise's ring and amazing style (that polka dot sweater - my fave!), but most of all - their sweet engagement story remembered with mugs from Java Moose and Grand Marais.
Sometimes I get to do something a little extra fun and a little extra special! My sister put out the idea of doing a halloween portrait session and it turned out way better than I could have ever imagined...I could stare at her gouly family all day. Melissa wore a dress from my vintage wedding gown collection, Audrey's witch costume base was our great-grandmother's dress, Melissa made Spencer's mummy costume out of old lace and cheesecloth (YES, REALLY - I KNOW - AMAZING!!), Chloe wore a flower girl dress I had left from a shoot and Tucker and Todd's costumes were mixes of store bought and made. My sister is also a super talented hair and makeup artist - hence the amazeballs hairdos and faces. ENJOY our SPOOKS shoot! Gorgeous bouquets by Bloom Designs.
Today I am sending a bit of baby fever and happy heart flutters - meet Harper! There is nothing better than continuing to photograph my couples from engagement to wedding day to maternity to baby...so much love and so much beauty. Sarah and Luke came to my studio with Harper, some adorable outfits and about 100 headbands in tow. Okay...I might be exageratting about the headbands a tiny bit...maybe. ;) We were able to mix in some floral from Bloom Designs for a gorgeous and delicious smelling addition! Be sure to check out the slideshow at the end to view more images. Congratulations Sarah and Luke - she is perfect!.ss-embed-container-77740 {position:relative; padding-bottom:66.6%; height:0; overflow:hidden; max-width:100%} .ss-embed-container-77740 iframe {position:absolute; top:0;left:0; width:100%!important; height:100%!important;}

Could I love these two (three with Ike!) any more?!?! Seriously though, it is engagement sessions with moments like these that get me super excited for wedding season. Ronni and Joe - thank you so much for coming over and working through all the laughs and the smiles. :) I can't wait for your winter wedding at The NP Event Space this December!
Spencer is my sister's adorable youngest son. He was feeling a bit under the weather this day, but we still managed to catch his sweet smile.
My nieces were so sweet as to lend their bunnies for some fun Easter sessions. How cute are they with their adorable animals? After the portrait time with their bunnies, they had a fun overnight with my son Ethan complete with more photos by budding photographer Audrey and her Instax camera. ;)
Little Nick brought his new raincoat, yellow rainboots and eggs from his own chickens for his spring portrait session. Too cute! And don't miss the little baby and bunny blooper [light tumble] at the end...it was too adorable not to share!
I am about to fill the blog with photos of sweet little faces and bunnies so get ready to swoon over adorableness! How cute are these girls and their beautiful mom?!?! And little Eva has always been pretty held back with her smiles for me...I guess I just need a bunny at every session! I am lucky enough to have a sister and sweet nieces who lent their beloved pets for a few photo sessions.
I feel so fortunate to often photograph the lives of two people long after their engagement and wedding. It seems Jameson's newborn milestones were happening just yesterday and now he has the sweetest baby brother. I don't often photograph newborn sessions as I am not as great at the beautiful super-posed newborn shots as other photographers are, but there is still something that I absolutely love in photographing a family with their new baby. It seems like I could use a few more in my life. ;) Congratulations Adam and Liz on creating another adorable son!
I am fortunate enough to see Amanda's smiling face around often as she works for my favorite florist. Amanda and Andrew visited my studio to have portraits of their son done for his first birthday and family photos as well. How cute are they? And Easton in his one-piece denim...seriously adorable!
